Welcome Week Timetabling
Problem
Welcome Week requires students to attend a large number of mandatory and optional events, resulting in approximately 100,000 individual student‑specific events, with no existing system capable of delivering these at institutional scale.
Delivery
The Innovation team developed an interim solution to gather event data from across the University, process it into personalised schedules, and publish events for students at scale while accommodating late changes.
Outcome
The service operated successfully at institutional scale, enabling the delivery of around 100,000 individual events, mitigating significant operational risk and improving clarity for students during a critical transition period.
