AI Gateway

Faculty and staff required access to generative AI large language models for research, education, and professional services. However, using publicly available models was expensive, difficult, and risked exposing University data.

Delivery

We built an AI gateway to provide private, secure access to cutting-edge LLMs via bespoke APIs, allowing users to integrate AI into their projects, products, and services.

Outcome

The pilot currently has around 30 active users, who have reported increased productivity and the strong need for a permanent version of the tool. It is also supporting other University pilots, including a tool that automates the creation of service desk tickets. We’re currently exploring novel approaches to securely storing data in the Gateway so that users can benefit from the use of the latest, most powerful AI models.
